Wildwood is home to a 1.8 mile world-famous boardwalk, restaurants, live entertainment and street festivals. Recent restoration of "Doo Wop" architectural styled hotels creates a Disneyland effect in the commercial district, while the area's inland waterways are ideal for boating, fishing, whale watching and excursions. It was ranked the best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest, which was sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium.
